FEV France

Organisation Introduction

FEV France is part of the global FEV Group, a leading engineering and innovation partner for the automotive and energy sectors. The company provides advanced solutions in product and system engineering, simulation, testing, validation, and durability, supporting the transition towards sustainable mobility and energy systems. With strong expertise in hydrogen technologies—including PEM fuel cells and electrolysers—FEV France supports OEMs, suppliers, and energy players across the entire development cycle. Its capabilities cover system integration, performance optimisation, degradation analysis, and experimental validation. Leveraging multidisciplinary teams and state-of-the-art facilities, FEV contributes to European research and innovation projects to advance clean, efficient, and environmentally responsible technologies.

Why UPeM?

As hydrogen technologies scale up, ensuring their environmental sustainability becomes a key priority. UPeM offers FEV France the opportunity to address a critical and emerging challenge: the environmental impact of PFAS in PEM-based systems.

By joining UPeM, FEV strengthens its expertise in understanding and mitigating emissions linked to material degradation, while contributing to the development of future standards and best practices at European level. The project fully aligns with FEV’s ambition to support its customers with sustainable, high-performance solutions that meet upcoming regulatory requirements and drive the clean hydrogen transition forward.

Involvement in UPeM?

Within UPeM, FEV France contributes to both technical and strategic activities. It supports the understanding of PFAS release mechanisms through system-level analysis and industrial know-how in PEM fuel cells and electrolysers. The company contributes to experimental validation under realistic operating conditions and helps bridge laboratory results with industrial applications. In addition, FEV drives the definition of exploitation and innovation strategies, including the identification of key results, market opportunities, and pathways towards industrial uptake. Its role ensures that project outcomes are aligned with industry needs and future regulatory frameworks.
